When does apple season end?  I hope it’s like December because I have a million more apple recipes to share.  Specifically, a million more apple butter recipes to share.  Luckily, apple butter keeps for a long time, so be sure to make a batch and eat a couple hundred apple butter grilled cheeses this winter. So.  On top of the bad weekend I had, I got hit with some sort of virus that’s been going around.  Bad luck seems to come in waves, eh?  Cheer me up by heading over to Monday’s post and entering the giveaway.  You can also cheer me up by not mentioning how I flaked out on posting Wednesday – I was just too sick and exhausted Tuesday night to even think about food – or coming over and eating all the leftover Halloween candy I have.  We seriously got only 10 trick or treaters, despite trying to coax more into coming by giving out full size PB Twix. I did NOT have the best of weekends – I had fun at Halloween party and I made some amazing recipes with apple butter (don’t worry, recipe to come soon!), but other than that, I fell into a huge pile of bad luck on Saturday.  I’m also going to appologize for the lack of photos  of the actual Annie’s product– we took plenty, but Josh’s computer turned into a really expensive, shiny brick this morning, so they’re temporarily unavailable 😉  In the meantime, enjoy while I recyle pictures of foods where I USED these tasty morsels.   Anyway, bad mood for me = good day for everyone else, and not just because I stress made a cake that I brought into work.  Free stuff is good enough to cheer anyone up,...

Third slow cooker oatmeal recipe in a row! We did it guys. We made it through a week of my eating nothing but oatmeal.  Just kidding.  But seriously, I’ve eaten a lot of oatmeal lately.  This happens when it gets cold out.  I want a hot breakfast but I want to sleep in and do absolutely nothing in the morning. Have you fallen in love with Monday’s mocha oatmeal, yet?  Well get ready, because here’s your second love:  white mocha oatmeal.  I’m pretty certain this week will go down in my blogger history (those are probably just called archives) as the week I ate nothing but caffeine.  I promise, not everything I eat is full of coffee!  Just my breakfasts 😉 While mochas are fantastic, white mochas are more Josh’s style.  He freaked out over the milk chocolatey version, so I figured I’d throw him a bone and make an oatmeal I knew would get him out of bed in the morning.  It may be a little higher in sugar and you miss out on some of the health benefits of real chocolate, but it’s delicious and not everything can...

If you don’t count my sweetpotato quesadilla, this will be my first Recipe Redux  challenge.  This month, t he challenge was a non-casserole dish made in a slow cooker.  If you scroll through my archives, you’ll see that I don’t really use a slow cooker very often, despite loving the convenience more than anything. Normally, what I want most in the morning is a big cup of coffee.  I generally prefer to drink it black with no frills.  However, coffee doesn’t love me as much as I love it.  If I start my day with a cup of coffee and no solid breakfast base, I have a fantastic heart burn/stomach ache combo all day.  I’m usually pretty short on time (as I imagine most people are in the mornings!) so...
