I have few philosophies in life, but my number 1 motto is “Always say yes to pancakes”. Very, very rarely will a pancake let you down, because a crappy pancake is still a pancake and pancakes are a miracle food of deliciousness.  They’re perfect for brinner after a bad day, breakfast on a special day, or late night diner food after a night out.  Is there anything pancakes can’t do?  I don’t think so.   I normally make vegan pancakes at home, but I was craving something way more indulgent on a lazy Saturday.  I remembered some sort of ricotta zeppole/beignets/deep fried deliciousness that I had for dessert a couple of months ago that was made with ricotta (and whiskey caramel sauce, respect), and I knew that’s exactly what I...

I received free samples of Breton Gluten Free Original with Flax and Breton Gluten Free Herb and Garlic from Dare Foods Incorporated mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Dare Foods Incorporated and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time. Is there anything more delicious than an ooey, gooey mozzarella stick?  In college, they were my favorite after-bar treat.  I’d them at a diner or pop a few frozen ones in the oven when I got home.  Even in my adult life plus long before in my childhood, I have always loved those cheesy sticks.  When I was challenged with making a gluten free recipe, I was (no joke) eating cheese sticks.  I’m not sure...

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Private Selection for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Who likes burgers?  Uhhh, everyone?  So much in fact, that there’s a whole realm of burgers for people who don’t even eat meat.  While meaty burgers get all of the spotlight, I’m willing to guess that there are just as many veggie burger recipes (if not MORE) out there than meaty ones by now — plus I still get all of the topping choices of regular burgers when building my veggie burger.  I call that a total win.  While Michigan isn’t known for any particular type of burger (we only really have that distinction with Coney dogs), I like to make my personal burgers stand out to convince meat eaters...

Quiche, quiche, quiche.  I can go months or years without thinking about it, and then it takes over my brain without warning.  I blame a Michigan-based chain that’s down the road from me, that has killer quiche.  When it goes on special, I can’t resist it.  I’ve been living under this assumption that quiche is hard to make, until a quick Google search proved me wrong.  Other than the crust, it’s pretty much just whisk...

Is anyone else still waiting for their owl?  You know, the one with your Hogwarts letter.  Mine is running over a decade late, but I’ll totally forgive them in exchange for a wand.  Or maybe just a magical goblet that is charmed to be a never ending glass of butterbeer. Is anyone else freaking beyond excited for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion?  I’ve gone to the park at least once a year for the last few years, and I’m wholly obsessed with their butterbeer.  Since they haven’t announced an opening date for the new park yet, I’m just over here fan-girling and drinking my homemade butterbeer.  I decided to make it a little more enchanting by making it alcoholic.  I’ve had this both as a shot and as...

Woah, can we say flakey much?  No, not something flakey and delicious that I’ve made — just me.  Not only did I forget to post on Friday and then was too exhausted to write a post for Monday (more on that later) but the post I put up on Wednesday?  Totally not even what I meant to write about.  I guess I just got so excited about that banana breakfast cake that this grilled cheese fell out of my mind.  Not that this grilled cheese isn’t amazing, because it totally is.  And it uses the sun dried tomato bread from last Monday.  Plus has sun dried tomatoes ON it.  Delicious sun dried tomato overload.  This grilled cheese was inspired by a build-your-own grilled cheese bar my friends had during a...
