Is anyone else ready for the weekend? Oh… we just had one? I could use another. I spent all day Sunday shopping for a bridesmaid dress, which was fun but exhausting. Plus traveling home through inclement weather (with a pit stop to check on my sister’s bunny during the storm while they’re out of town) = so sleepy. On the extra plus side, I got to run into Whole Foods for a hot minute, which is always a treat when you live hours away from one. Hours. Feel bad for me. While I was out shopping, Josh was at home eating leftover flautas. <– Spell check doesn’t like that word, it prefers taquitos. Do you know the difference between a flauta and a taquito? It’s all in the tortilla. Fauta =...
This has been the longest week. Ever. You know how a short week can make the following week feel insanely long? Well, I’ve had several short weeks in a row (really not complaining about that part!) followed by a full week last week. This was technically another short week because I have every other Friday off *please don’t throw things at me*, but for some reason it felt like last week bled into this week. Needless to say, I was ready for Friday on Tuesday… or for Thursday, which was technically my Friday this week. 😉 To make my Tuesday feel a little more special, Josh and I had a wine and cheese dinner with a side of Blue Diamond almonds. They sent over Whole Natural and Rosemary & Black Pepper. ...
Everyone has their junk food or processed ingredient they just can’t quit, right? While I actually have many, a big one has always been Manwich. I love a good, homemade sauce but sometimes you just need the sugary ease of sauce in a can. Until you look at the ingredients list and see WOAH, that really is basically 98% sugar (obvs a made up number, but just go with it). But still, I couldn’t deny my sweet sloppy Joe craving, right? I’m pretty sure this craving had come from when Josh had ordered a cheeseburger pizza and lamented how it didn’t taste as much like a sloppy Joe has his hometown pizza place (but you’d expect a cheeseburger pizza to taste like cheeseburgers and not sloppy Joes, right?). From there...
Woah, that’s a long recipe title. I wish I was a little better at naming recipes, because I feel like I need to add every single descriptor I have in my arsenal. You’re lucky I don’t have super-fudgy, crazy tasty, best gluten free brownies ever in the title. I’ve had a busy weekend. And busy weekends best end with sitting on the couch, watching BB16, eating piles of brownies. I had a friend in from out of town unexpectedly and Josh’s family reunion on Sunday, so I’ve missed out on all of my lounging around time (and Saturday’s jog, shhhhh don’t tell the second brownie I’m eating). Is everyone sick of black bean brownies yet? I jumped on the bandwagon a little late and am still wholly in love, and hopefully...
I am in a delicious food groove. When I made Sloppy Joe Pockets on Tuesday (Recipe coming soon, I promise), Josh and I agreed they were a 10/10, so I prepared myself to be disappointed for the rest of the week. Nothing was going to beat that, so why bother? Then, BAM. BBQ sauce all up in my grilled cheese paired with the magic of caramelized onions. If you know one thing about me, please know that I will use any method possible to get BBQ sauce into my body. Some people eat whipped cream out of a can, this girl does it with BBQ sauce. While my dream meal is BBQ sauce soup, I’ve been thinking about a BBQ sauce grilled cheese for a long time. I normally dip my...
Is there anything better than a huge heaping bowl of pasta? Correct answer: cookies. But let’s pretend we’ve never had cookies for dinner, okay? While we’re busy not eating cookies for dinner, we should probably be adults and load it up with veggies. The extra bonus to that, is you end up with an extra huge bowl of pasta, yessss. This is pretty much a re-hash of my very under appreciated mostly veggie pasta. Granted, this was one of my very, very first recipes ever, but it’s SO delicious. I originally used a jar of organic marinara sauce that I doctored up with wine and extra herbs, but I figured I’d go the extra mile and use actual tomatoes. It’s something that Josh requests often and I’m inclined to make it, because helloooo veggies. ...
