You know what the worst part about taking a trip is? Coming home to a sad, empty fridge and pantry. Especially right before Christmas, when my grocery store is PACKED. Luckily, before I left Udi’s sent me a HUGE package of goodies that I immediately stuck in my freezer. [Sadly, not many of the GF Snickerdoodles actually made it into the freezer. Those went right into my mouth.] After a fantastic night of sleeping in my bed for the first in a long while, I was craving something simple.  Also, feeling a little cranky without my free Starbucks in the morning (our drink package on our cruise included specialty coffees! What, what!). I threw a Cinnamon Raisin bagel in the toaster for Josh and a Mighty bagel for the lady...

Need a little extra motivation as we get closer to Christmas and New Year’s eat-a-thon Eve? I invited Becky from Olives ‘n’ Wine over for a guest post while my vacation wraps up (booo!) so I can get back, re-read this, and try to swing into some healthy habits — and to help keep everyone else on track this holiday season, too. Have you checked out Becky’s blog yet? She keeps a great balance between staying healthy and giving in to some indulgences, and I especially love her Treat Yourself Tuesday posts. Let’s see what tips she has for us! —  Hi there Hidden Fruits and Veggies readers! I’m Becky from over at Olives ‘n’ Wine – a blog where I share my passion for keeping a balanced life through eating well, tasting...

Today I have Erin from The Speckled Palate here for a guest post. Do we see a cheesy, delicious theme in all of these guest posts? Not planned, but I like it.  I’ve been following Erin’s blog probably since before I started my own, and girl can cook. Her photos are gorg plus she started out as a photojournalist, so I always feel like I’m getting a story in the photos as well as drooling all over my keyboard as I read. Check out her blog – she’s a total sweetheart and I promise you’ll fall in love with her blog. —– When Kelly and I were speaking about this guest post I would write for her, I asked what I should make, and she mentioned side dishes. Turns out,...

Check out the cheese in those photos and get excited for this Skillet Eggplant Parm, conveniently gluten free because today’s guest poster doesn’t eat the glutens. I’ve sung blogged about my love for Julia from The Roasted Root before, but now she’s here in live action filling in for me while I’m on my 5th mojito of the day. (<– that’s a lie, I’m writing this in advance and mojitoless. But trust that “today” is a few days into my cruise, and I’ll be sufficiently mojitoed). This girl is hilarious and makes all kinds of delicious foods, so keep on reading! Hi there, fellow lovers of Hidden Fruits and Veggies!  I’m Julia, from The Roasted Root, stopping in to say hey while Kelly is away cruising the Bahamas!  Kelly and...

If I haven’t mentioned it enough, I’m on vacation. Today I’m hanging around Diagon Alley with my boy Harry Potter and tomorrow I get on a cruise to the Bahamas. I’ll be sure to send some sunshine your way and drink an extra mojito for you. Today I have Marcie from Flavor the moments here guest posting. Are you following Marcie yet? She has a strong passion for food and just finished a program at a cooking school, which makes me all around pretty jealous. We share a love of cheese and her blog is loaded with tasty recipes. Plus, apparently she knows that lasagna is a food weakness of mine! Be sure to follow her blog (links under her post).   Hi, I’m Marcie from Flavor the Moments!  I...

Happy Wednesday! I head out for vacation tomorrow, so over the next week + you’ll see some of my favorite bloggers popping in for a guest post. Have I not  talked about my vacation enough? We’ll do a couple days in Orlando (Wizarding World of Harry Potter, here I come! Let me know if I should drink a butterbeer for you, I’m already planning on like 50), followed up by a 5 night Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas, and then back to Orlando for some Disney action. I have a couple friends in Orlando and a couple friends going on the trip with me, so I’m super excited to see everyone and get some relaxation in before Christmas craziness start continues. Spoiler alert: you’ll see posts from Marcie, Julia,...
